Our story

The Lost Eagle began with one question: why is a good plain T-shirt so hard to find in India?

The problem

Most tees sold here are built to a price, not a standard. The weight on the label is rounded up. The collar is cut from thin rib that waves after a few washes. The side seams twist because the fabric was never compacted. You only find out a month later, when it is too late to send it back.

What we did instead

We started from the fabric and worked outward. The Signature Tee is 30s combed, compact, ring-spun cotton in single jersey, 210 gsm ± 8, weighed on the finished tee after washing rather than on the raw roll. It is bio-washed and compacted, so shrinkage stays under 3% in length after three domestic washes.

The collar is a 2 cm 1×1 rib, taped shoulder to shoulder so it keeps its line. The body is side-seamed with four-thread overlock stitching, and the hems are coverstitched at 2.5 cm. Every number we publish is one we measured.

Why one tee

We make one T-shirt, in black, white and dark blue. We would rather make one thing properly than twelve things adequately. A new piece joins only when it meets the same standard.

Made in India

The fabric is knitted and the tee is stitched in India. We sell directly to you, so the money goes into the cloth and the construction, not into layers of margin.

What we publish

We think you should know exactly what you are buying, and what is happening in the industry that makes it. So we publish what we learn: fabric tests, what it costs to make a tee, and how cotton, trade and tax are moving. Read it in the journal.

The name

An eagle is rarely lost. When one is, it climbs, circles and finds its line again.

Somewhere along the way, clothing lost its line. Cotton got thinner, labels got louder, and prices stopped meaning anything. The Lost Eagle is our way back: to the weight of good cotton, a collar that stays flat, and a price you can trust.
